A copy of the syllabus I designed for my course on economic sociology is available here.
In addition to teaching about culture and markets, I am interested in and qualified for teaching courses on creative labour, gender and the economy, work and occupations, sociology of culture, and organization theory. Additionally, the breadth of analytical techniques I employ – regression analysis, content analysis, visual/discourse analysis, and in-depth interviewing – means that I am well positioned to teach social research methods, as well as mentor students interested in diverse methodologies.
Through my experience working as both a teaching assistant and instructor, I have developed an extensive foundation for effective teaching. The student evaluations for my course on Economic Sociology demonstrate my effectiveness as a teacher; on all measures, I score above average in comparison both to other teachers in Sociology and to those in the Social Sciences division at the University of Toronto Mississauga more broadly. A copy of my teaching portfolio is available upon request.
